About Us
We Build for People
Our Organization
ASME UTRGV offers Opportunities
-
Our SolidWorks software has everything you need to apply your skills in real-life situations.

-
Our members will gain life skills in the engineering workplace and learn to work together to construct a real machine.

-
We are flexible with our members and understanding of their schedules. We communicate through our media and chats.

-
We welcome all majors from different fields than engineering!
Our Vision
We are always looking for new ideas and minds to help in our innovation to a brighter future with safe technologies available for all.
Our mission
We hope to expand the mechanical engineering branch and make all opportunities available for students at UTRGV. We hope for students to learn how to work in real-world situations.
We Aim to Build a Better World
Why Choose Us?
We are a team, we work together. Each brings their own ideas to the table and with the help of our team, we bring our ideas to life. Each person is powerful alone, but they're even better together. Together, we help create opportunities for our members by reaching our performance levels to new heights. In ASME we are collaborative, dedicated to our our community, and strive to become successful.
ASME UTRGV
ASME UTRGV takes part in 3 projects (listed below) and includes 2 team leads for each project. Each project has a different mission to build a machine. Members can take part in any they choose all that is asked is for participation and membership dues.
ASME UTRGV - Projects
IAM3D
Leonardo Garcia
Alejandro Manzanares
IAM3D is an engineering college club that specializes in designing and constructing innovative projects using a combination of engineering expertise and 3D printing technology. This club focuses on fostering creative problem-solving and hands-on learning experiences for its members, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge to real-world applications. IAM3D's projects encompass a wide range of fields, showcasing the diverse talents and skills of its members within the realm of engineering and 3D printing.
SDC
Keyhla Rodriguez
Alex Martinez
UTRGV ASME SDC (Student Design Competition) is a member-led team that participates in robotics-oriented competitions with the goal of developing the essential hard skills needed for the engineering industry and soft skills for working in a team. Members collaborate and exchange ideas with each other in a positive environment that nurtures creativity and involvement.
SDC serves as a great stepping stone for engineering majors and non-engineering majors alike to begin developing their skills and interests in a team that focuses on winning and growth.
(SDC is geared towards engineering majors, however, we encourage non-engineers to join and participate!)
Vaquro Imagineering
John Eberlein
The goal of Vaquero Imagineering is to have a place at UTRGV where students can develop their skill set by collaborative effort along the engineering processes: designing, building, testing, and analysis by facilitating the adoption and completion of engineering projects.
Projects are created based on the interests and passions of our student members and attempt to address issues that affect our world. Beyond finding your interest, and learning to work as part of a team, we hope to prepare you for your senior design by real, first-hand practice.

Our first project:
What? Converting waste into bio-fertilizer and bio-fuels
How? Creating a solar furnace to drive biochemical reactions and separate vapor and solid products.
Why? Attempts to help build a more sustainable world by providing agricultural communities with the means to achieve self-reliance.
